Basingstoke Canal Repairs In Progress

Due to a number of breaches to the banks of the canal in the Dogmersfield stretch, please be aware that the BCA is carrying out repair works in the area, and the works will continue for around ten weeks.

The canal has been "dammed" between Double Bridge and Crookham Wharf (chequers Bridge) in Dogmersfield. This is likely to cause low water levels in the canal probably as far as Ash Wharf (lock 29). The work is badly needed, so please be patient. All should be back to normal by the start of the new season. (16th June 2010).
