Excellent Turn Out For The Jennifer Trust
To begin, Swallowfield Fishing Club would like to thank all of those who attended the charity match on Sunday 14th September at Pondwood Fisheries, Waltham St Lawrence. Also a very big thank you to all of those businesses, organisations and individuals who donted prizes for the fund raising.
All told, 30 anglers took part to raise money for the Jennifer Trust, the clubs chosen charity this year. The early misty morning soon cleared to leave the day with warm sunshine. A hearty breakfast was provided by the on site cafe for those in need along with tea and coffee. A good few raffle tickets were also sold on the morning to go with those already taken over the previous few days, this would be held at the end of the match.
As the last few anglers finished thier breakfasts, almost all of the entire length of the "Snake Lake" had been allocated pegs ready for the draw and the eventual 10.00am start. What would the next five hours have in store. Results are below
